Europese Missionaire Conferentie in Parijs
De IAMS (International Association for Mission Studies) komt regelmatig bijeen voor een wereldwijd beraad, zoals in Port Dickson (Maleisië) in 2004. Daarnaast worden ook continentale ontmoetingen georganiseerd: Stavanger (1998) en Halle (2002).
De eerstvolgende bijeenkomst op Europese schaal vindt plaats van 24-28 augustus 2006 in Parijs. Als organiserende organisatie treedt op de francofone missionaire beraadsgroep AFOM (Association Francophone Oecuménique de Missiologie). De voertaal zal behalve Frans, ook Engels en Spaans zijn.
Het thema van deze bijeenkomst is: "Europe after the Enlightment: daring to practise mission in a Europe still trying to construct itself".
Vanuit Nederland zal Dr. Mechteld Janssen, universitair docent aan de VU, een bijdrage leveren. De lezingen zullen tijdens de conferentie in de drie genoemde talen beschikbaar zijn en de gesproken teksten zullen ook via tolken in de gewenste taal te volgen zijn.
Verheugend is dat deze conferentie door een brede voorbereidingsgroep uit heel Europa gedragen wordt. Om deze conferentie tot een succes te maken, geven een aantal Parijse organisaties financiële en logistieke steun. Maar door missionaire instellingen van elders, zoals Nederland, wordt deze conferentie gesponsord.
Vandaar dat de deelnemersprijs bescheiden kon worden gehouden: 50 EUR inschrijving; kosten maaltijden en verblijf 230 EUR voor een tweepersoonskamer, voor een éénpersoonskamer komt daar nog 50 EUR bij.

Presentatie bundel 'Fruitful in this land'
 Op dinsdag 16 mei vindt aan de Vrije Universiteit te Amsterdam de presentatie plaats van de bundel ‘Fruitful in this Land. Pluralism, Dialogue and Healing in migrant Pentecostalism' , onder redactie van André Droogers, Cees van der Laan en Wout van Laar.
De publicatie is een gezamenlijke uitgave van het Hollenweger Center en de NZR en kan gezien worden als resultaat van het door de NZR geïnitieerde Missionair kwartaal Beraad.
Het boek telt 175 pagina's kost € 19,90.
